EBD 03 - And many peoples shall come...

Today the third Bible Dialogue ended. We were 17 participants from Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Italy and I don't could the Lebanon, because after 20 years, our two Muslim participants definitely belong to Germany. Since Islam was our topic, we read some Suras from the Qur’an as well as Bible texts. Our encounters with the German Arab Centre in Neukölln and during the city walk through Kreuzberg, we had a chance to get to know something about daily life of Muslims in Berlin. We had some very good talks. Big thanks to Neda and Omar, who were with us all through the conference, so we could ask a lot questions we might not have asked a guest lecturer. Several participants said that the gained that the encounters with Muslims was a good experience and widened their horizon in respect to Islam, that we Christians and Muslim have a lot in common, even if our religions are quite different. Dialogue means listening to each other and speaking with each other, not necessarily agreeing on everything.
