I sent out the first invitations for our theologican study conference from July
30 to August 3, 2014 in berlin. Our topic will be humour: jokes, cartoons,
satire, mockery.
What role does humour
play in our faith? What if others laugh at what is sacred to us? Humour often
pushes the boundaries. No power on earth can stand against genuine laughter. Laughter
is also an image of redemption. Psalm 126 describes the joy of deliverance from
exile: „Our mouth was filled with laughter.“ There is the tradition of Easter
laughter: laughing in the face of Death. Martin Luther was sure that in Heaven
there would be laughter with body and soul. Why not also in our churches? Students
of theology of all denominations, as well as related subjects (such as
religious education) are also welcome to participate.
One of our guest
speakers this year will be Prof. Dr. Imre Peres, from the Reformed Theological
University in Debrecen, Hungary. Besides more theological input, there will be
plenty of time to get to know each other and of course Berlin. For more
information, please mail to: hahn@eaberlin.de
If you have a good "Christian" joke, feel free to post it here under comments.
