Die Evangelische Gemeinde in Mediasch hat uns sehr verwöhnt und wir waren
schnell so etwas wie eine Familie. Oder sind wir vielleicht eine Familie? In
der Bibel kommen so viele unterschiedliche Familien vor, dass letztlich nur zählt,
was uns verbindet: Zuneigung und gegenseitige Fürsorge. Nicht jeder findet
einen Platz in der traditionellen Familie, die so ist „wie eine Hand mit fünf Gliedern“:
Vater Mutter und drei Kinder. Naomi und Ruth waren nur noch zwei Frauen, als
sie aufbrachen und doch auch Familie. Ein Haus ist Dach für mehr als nur
Blutsverwandte und unser „Haus“, die Gemeinde in Christi, beherbergt alle, die
in seinem Namen füreinander da sind. In diesem Sinne sind wir Familie:
Väter, Mütter, Kinder, Freunde, Gäste, Gemeindeglieder, Schutzbefohlene, Einsame, …
Yesterday I
returned from our encounter in Medias (Romania). Our topic was “Families
in the Bible and in Europe”. Time passed too quickly, and we might have wished
for more of it or at least less rushing. “Clocks go at a different pace in Romania” we were told, when we were welcomed at the village church in
Michelsberg with “hanklich” (a tasty sheet cake) and coffee and lemonade. I
guess, I should have considered that.
Our group soon felt like a family as well and maybe we are something like a family. There are so many different kinds of family in the Bible that maybe all that matters is that we care for one another. We cannot all find our place in a traditional family of Mother, Father, Children. Naomi and Ruth had no one but each other and yet they were a family. A house gives shelter to more than just blood relations and our house in Christ lets us all be a family: fathers, mothers, children, the members of our congregation, friends and guests, those we care for and those who are lonely, …

Ich habe heute noch ein schönes Foto von einem Tagungsteilnehmer geschickt bekommen. Unsere "Mitte" mit der Europakarte und dem kleinen Häuschen darauf als Symbol für unser eigenes kleines Haus Europa.
