Jan Hus – und Europas (fast) vergessene Reformation - Europe's (almost) forgotten Reformation

Auch im Juni gibt es noch einen Bibeldialog in einem anderen Land: Vom17. bis 21. Juni 2015 tagen wir in der Church Pension in Prag. Es ist die jährlich stattfindenden Begegnungstagung der Gemeinschaft Ev. Kirchen in Europa. Im Jahr 2015 in Prag kam kein anderes Thema mehr in Frage als Jan Hus und die tschechische Reformation – ein Jahrhundert vor Martin Luther.

"ES BRENNT!" Jan Hus – und Europas (fast) vergessene Reformation Vor 600 Jahren wurde Jan Hus als Ketzer verurteilt. Die biblische Botschaft hatte ihn das Evangelium neu entdecken lassen. Er wurde verbrannt und die Böhmischen Brüder, die sich auf ihn beriefen, verfolgt. Viele mussten fliehen, doch ihr neues Gespür für Gottes Gegenwart blieb wach. Heute ist Jan Hus tschechischer Nationalheld. Er steht für die Widerstandskraft des Glaubens und den Mut zu überraschenden, neuen und nicht immer leichten Wegen der Kirche im Umbruch der Zeiten.

„FIRE!“ Jan Hus – and the (almost) forgotten Reformation Jan Hus was declared a heretic and sentenced to death. The message of the Bible had led him to rediscover the Gospel. He was burnt at the stake and the Bohemian Brethren who followed him were persecuted. Many had to flee, but a new sense of the presence of God remained. Today, Jan Hus is a Czech national hero and stands for the power of resistance that can be found in faith and the courage to seek out new and surprising, sometimes even difficult paths in our churches.(June 17-21,2015 in Prague)
