Lachen in der Kirche, geht das? Allerdings.
Humour and
Faith. Is it ok to laugh in church? We certainly laughed a good deal at our
Bible Workshop. Young people from Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Latvia and
Romania came together to come up with
ideas on how to bring more joy into our congregation and their celebrations.
Jesus turned water into wine, after all, not to get people dunk but
symbolically to show that he wants people to have a good time and rejoice. At Cana it was all about a wedding. On Sunday in our churches it is about the Gospel,
the good news. Our idea was also to encourage young people to speak up in their
congregations and say what they need. We experienced worship in a different
unfamiliar way at the Hillsong community, loud and joyful, maybe not to everybody’s
taste, but there are many roads on which to encounter and praise God. We heard
at the worship that unity and community are attractive and we certainly felt this
in our group like brothers and sisters. A special thanks goes to all
participants and of course our team and those who came along and interpreted
almost non-stop.
