Kommt, sagt es allen weiter ... Go tell it on the mountain ...

Two days ago we finished our European study conference for theology students "MISSION (IM)POSSIBLE – Reforming worship". The most interesting part for me and (I am sure) most of the participants, was certainly the sharing of experience of worship in 6 different countries: Germany, England, (Hungarian) Romania, Latvia, Czech Republic and Slovakia: discussions in small groups, the evening of nations as much as the first evening, when almost all participants had prepared excellent contributions, from songs, talks and pictures to short film. I am still impressed how concentrated the group was despite the heat wave that proved too much at least for the hotel's air-conditioning. A good conference lives from a good group such as this. We could have been more – more participants and more countries. I will certainly try and “go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere…” I will need help and suggestions on who to invite.

Vor zwei Tagen ging die Europäische Studientagung für Theologiestudierende zum Thema “MISSION (IM)POSSIBLE: Gottesdienst reformieren“ zu Ende. Das Allerinteressanteste an der Begegnung war sicher nicht nur für mich der Erfahrungsaustausch der Teilnehmenden aus 6 verschiedenen Ländern Europas. Nicht nur in Kleingruppengesprächen und am Länderabend, auch schon am ersten Abend hatten die Teilnehmer/innen hervorragende Beiträge vorbereitet, von Liedern, über Texte und Bilder bis hin zum selbst gedrehten Kurzfilm. Ich bin auch immer noch sehr beeindruckt, wie konzentriert alle gewesen sind trotz der Hitzewelle die immerhin die Klimaanlage außer Gefecht gesetzt hat. Eine gute Tagung lebt von engagierten Teilnehmer/innen wie diesen. Wir hätten mehr sein können – mehr Teilnehmer/innen und auch noch mehr Länder.
