Gott spricht analog und digital und überhaupt, wie Gott will... God speaks anologue, digital and anyway God pleases.

Statt meiner eigenen Eindrücke, stelle ich heute als Feedback den Bericht einer Teilnehmerin unseres Bibeldialogs zu den Online-Möglichkeiten der Kirchen. Es ging uns darum zu ergründen, ob und warum wir als Christen, als Kirchen in den Foren im Internet vertreten sein sollten. (For English translation please scroll down***)

 "In meinem sozialen Umfeld  interessieren sich nur wenige für die zunehmende Digitalisierung unserer Zivilgesellschaft, unserer Kultur und unserer Kirche. Wer aber nicht online unterwegs ist, bekommt die rasante Entwicklung im Netz und die Auswirkungen auf die Kommunikations- und Umgangsformen gar nicht mit. Auch die evangelische Religiosität und die Gemeindearbeit  werden sich durch die Digitalisierung stark verändern. 

Diese Bibelwoche vom 18. bis 22.Oktober 2018 gehört zu den wichtigsten, die ich im Rahmen der Evangelischen Bibeldialoge besuchen konnte. Eine Fülle von Informationen erhellte mir die vor den Bildschirmen und in den weltweiten Servern sich abspielende Entwicklung. Chancen und Risiken für unsere Kirchen gilt es zu begreifen."

Das waren ein paar der Fragen und Ergebnisse:

"Kirche gehört dorthin, wo die Menschen sind. Und die sind zunehmend auch im Netz. 

Deshalb waren ausnahmslos alle Beiträge außerordentlich interessant und hilfreich für die Teilnehmer, die z.T. von sehr weit angereist waren (Ukraine, Lettland, Holland):

- OnlineKirche der EKM- Erprobungsräume  , um Kirche anders zu denken. 

Kann man die Unerreichbaren online erreichen  (geschützter, weil anonymer Raum)?

Wie werden neue Formen der  Seelsorge, der Bibelarbeit und des Betens  im Netz angenommen?

- NetzTeufel (Initiative der Evangelischen Akademie gegen aggressiven Hass im Internet). Spannend und  kreativ war der vielsprachige Workshop zum Umgang mit Hate Speech.

- Kirche digital -was ist sinnvoll, was verändert sich? Predigt als Gespräch - ein Beispiel für eine interaktive Kirche?

- Gurus im Internet. Die neuen Priester? (Hier ging es u.A. um die Influencer.)

Instead of my own impressions here what one of our participants wrote us. Our Bible dialogue was about what Churches can contribute online and if respectively how we as Christians can contribute to the digital world.

"Amon those around me, few are really interested in the increasing digitization of our world, our culture and our churches. if one is not online, one doesn't notice how fast things change on the Internet, and how this affects the way we communicate and how we treat one another. Even form of religiosity and our congregational work change due to digitization.  

This Bible Dialogue in October 2018 was one of the most important  I have ever attended. I received a lot of information that shed some light on what is happening in front of screens but also behind the scenes among administrators, providers, etc. We discussed chances as well as risks."

These are some of the issues we discussed. 

"The Church has to be where the people are and they are now increasingly online as well.

Therefore the all inputs were extremely interesting and helpful for us participants who came from all over, some from very far (e.g. Netherlands, Ukraine, Latvia) 

- OnlineChurch on the Protestant church in central Germany - spaces to experiment, to imagine church in new ways. Can we reach the unreachable ones? In an anonymous and therefore protected space? What makes sense and how attractive are online projects for pastoral care or prayer? 

- NetDevils (initiative of the protestant Academy against hate on the Internet) with an interesting and creative workshop on how we can contribute by setting hope-speech against hate-speech

- Digital church - what makes sense and what changes? 

- Gurus on the internet? (talking about influencers)

Die 10 Gebote, ein Geschenk - 10 Commandments, a present from God

Montag schon ging unser Bibeldialog zu den zehn Geboten zu Ende.  Wir waren eine vielfältige Gruppe aus ganz Deutschland, aus Bosnien, aus Rumänien, Spanien und Lettland. Nicht alle waren tatsächlich als Gemeindevorstände ehrenamtlich tätig,  und es waren nicht einmal alle Christen. Dennoch verbanden uns unsere Werte, die wir in den zehn Geboten – die ja eigentlich 14 sind, wie wir lernen durften, den alle von uns glauben an den einen Gott und, dass die Gebote von Gott geschenkt sind, nicht um die Menschen zu gängeln, sondern um das Leben miteinander gelingen zu lassen.  Die Gebote in unserem Alltag, in dem es nicht unbedingt um Mord und Diebstahl im wörtlichen Sinne gehen mag, sind deshalb nicht weniger wichtig. Man kann Menschen auch psychisch töten und das weitersagen von bösen Gerüchten oder auch das Verbreiten von „Fake News„  ist letztlich auch ein „falsch Zeugnis Reden wider unseren Nächsten“.

Über allen Geboten steht jedoch das erste. Gott ist unser Gott und zwar er allein. Wenn wir das für uns annehmen, sind alle anderen Gebote nur die Konsequenz aus dieser Liebe, die wiederum unsere Antwort ist, auf die Liebe, die Gott uns immer schon zuvor erwiesen hat.

Es war leicht, die (meisten) Teilnehmer*innen zu überzeugen, am Sonnabend mit zur Großdemonstration #Unteilbar zu gehen. In vielen Ländern Europas, auch in Deutschland ist rechtes Gedankengut wieder lauter geworden und scheint manchmal schon „salonfähig“. Der Sonntag nach einem wunderbaren Gottesdienst in der Sühne-Christi-Kirche galt dann dem Gedenken, der Mahnung, wie wichtig es ist, sich der Liebe Gottes zu ALLEN Menschen bewusst zu sein, keine Ausgrenzung zuzulassen, aufzustehen gegen jede Art der Diskriminierung.

*** Our Bible Dialog on the Ten Commandments ended on Monday. We were a diverse group from all over Europe. Not all of us were Elders of our congregation and not even all of us were Christians. Still our value were based on those 1o (actually 14, if you count them right) commandments, given by God, not to lord it over us, but to help us live and prosper. In our daily lives that are usually not determined by murder and theft they are no less important. One can kill a person by lies and gossip, and spreading fake news may well be today’s “bearing false witness against our neighbour”.

First and foremost is the first of those words: that God is our God and he alone. If we can accept this as our truth, all other commandments are just the consequence; iIf we love God in response to the love he has always already bestowed on us, we cannot but love our neighbour as ourselves.

It was easy to convince most of our group to join in the demonstration #unteilbar (undividable). Extreme-right thinking is getting louder in many countries in Europe and sometimes it feels as if such hate speech is now acceptable. Some may even think so. After a wonderful Worship at Sühne-Christi-church, we visited commemoration sight for the victims of the terror regime of Nazi-Germany. It made clear, why it is so important to stand up and speak up against all forms of discrimination and exclusion

Zehn Gebote... Ten Commandments

Zehn Gebote sollten gebügen für ein gutes Zusammenleben und gestern, zu Begin unsere Bibeldialogs haben wir gelernt, eigents genügt das erste Gebort, das erste Wort, wie es die jüdische tradition sieht. Wenn Gott der HERR ist, mein Gott und nur ER allein mein Gott und wenn ich das annehemn kann, erübrigen sich alle anderen Gebote, weil ich sie dann einfach halten will. Aus Liebe zu GOTT.
Ten Commandments should be sufficient for our lives together and yesterday, at the beginning of our Bible dialogue we learned, only one commandment, one word, as Jewish tradition holds, should be all we need. When God is the LORD, my God, and only HE is my God, and I I accept this as truth for my life, then all other commandment are merely the consequence, because I want to keep them for the love of GOD. My love for GOD in reply to GOD loving me.
