IN MEINES VATERS HAUS SIND VIELE WOHNUNGEN

Noch sind ein paar Plätze frei in unserem 31. Bibeldialog in Mediaş (Siebenbürgen, Rumänien) vom 9. bis 13. Juli 2014. Ich hoffe, das auch dieses Jahr wieder Teilnehmer aus recht vielen verschiedenen Ländern zusammenkommen, auch wenn für die WesteuropäerInnen die Reise etwas weiter ist. Unser Thema sind Familien in der Bibel und in Europa. In der Bibel wird statt dem Wort Familie meist der Begriff Haus genannt. Das Haus in der Bibel ist aber mehr als ein Gebäude oder das Elternhaus. Auch das Haus Europa bietet viele unterschiedliche Wohnungen und Lebensentwürfe.

Zu Gast bei der deutschen Minderheit in Siebenbürgen im Spannungsfeld zwischen Traditionsbewusstsein und den Lebensbedingungen im heutigen Rumänien, werden wir auch biblische Entwürfe des Zusammenlebens kennenlernen, die oft überraschend anders sind. Und wir werden über eigene Familienbilder nachdenken: Was hat sich geändert seit der Öffnung des Eisernen Vorhangs? Welche Zimmer und Wohnungen gibt in unserem Haus: in unseren Lebensentwürfen und in unserem Europa?

MY FATHER’S HOUSE HAS MANY ROOMS

We still have a few rooms free for the Bible Dialogue in Mediaş from July 9 to 13, 2014. We hope for participants from many European countries. (But we are also happy with people from outside of Europe, like Canada.) Our topic will be the idea of family in the Bible and today’s Europe.

In the Bible we often find the word house rather than family. A house in the Bible is more than a building and a family home. The European House, too, has many different dwellings and designs for living. We will be guests of the German minority in Transylvania, living between time-honoured traditions and the conditions of life in today’s Romania. We will study concepts of living together in the Bible that are often surprisingly different. And we will think about our own ideas of family: What has changed since the Iron Curtain opened? What rooms, what kinds of dwelling can we accommodate in our house: our lives and our Europe?
