In viele
traditionelle Kirchen kommen sonntags immer weniger Gottesdienstbesucher,
während neu gegründete freikirchliche Gemeinden und Laienbewegungen ganz andere
„Zielgruppen“ erreichen.
Gemeinden in Berlin.
in ihren Ländern bzw.
organisieren.

Today I prepared the invitations for our study
conference on new church plantings from March 13 to 17, 2014. High time: we already
have two participants from Russian and from Georgia.
Many churches lament the small number of churchgoers
while new church plantings attract a different group of worshippers. We will
visit some of these new congregations, share in their worship and reflect on
what we have in common and where we differ. We will share experiences from our European home
countries, our own perceptions of church plantings and the theological impulses
they may hold for us.
The conference will include among other topics an
introduction to the diversity of church plantings and an analysis of „growing“
congregation and lay movements within the established churches. We will discuss
criteria for good worship service and hospitable congregations, as well as look
at biblical texts on structures for congregation founding and congregation
rules. There will be lectures on and worship services with various faith
communities and congregations in Berlin. Last not least, on the „evening of
nations“ participants’ will share their experiences with new church plantings
in their home countries or the regions respectively.
The study conference will be held in German, but
interpretation into English can be provided on request. If you want to know
more about our conference, comment on the blog or send an e-mail to hahn@eaberlin.de
