SanftMUTig - Courageous or meek or both?

The first evening went very well with many pictures brought from home, showing how the participants have already done a good deal of thinking about the Beatitudes and the in specific "the Meek" before the conference. The German word for meek is "Sanftmut", the first syllable means "gentle", the second, due to changes in the German language over the centuries looks just like the German word for "courage", even if it it derives from the old-German word for "mind" or "temper". We agreed that nowaday and maybe at all times, gentleness or meekness have required a good deal of courage. We need the brave gentle ones in this world.
