Advent 2020

Eingesperrt und ausgegrenzt,
fern von lieben Menschen,
in einer Krise,
denken wir nach.

Haben wir uns übernommen?
Die Schöpfung missachtet?
Auf das Machbare vertraut?
Die Gemeinschaft vergessen?

Wir halten Ausschau,
freuen uns wieder auf Menschen
und lassen uns wandeln
auf die Zukunft Gottes hin.

*** Hans Klein, who is on the team of our Transsylvanian Bible Dialogue isn't just a theologian but also a poet. The German word for poetry "Dichtung" is related to the word for density or concentration and often, that is what a poem does: it concentrates words to the essence of their meaning. Thank you, Hans. Locked in and locked out,
far from people dear to us.
In this crisis,
we think.

Have we taken on too much?
Disregarded creation?
Trusted too much in what is doable?
Forgotten the community?

We look and search,
we look forward to people
allowing for us to change
towards the future of God.
