The unsettling power of Easter

*** The post today is from the New York Times – a memory from a Black church at easter. It is a reminder of why Easter, not Christmas, is the most important day in the Church year. Maybe we hide this under a pile of easter eggs because hope of that magnitude is too much to bear.

Der Artikel hat mich daran erinnert, warum wir Ostern, nicht Weihnachten als das höchste Fest der Christenheit feiern. Vielleicht verstecken wir dies unter einem Haufen Ostereier, weil Hoffnung dieser Größenordnung zu schwer zu ertragen ist?
