Vor zwei Jahren hatten wir uns für das Thema Gemeinschaft der Heiligen entschieden: was heißt das eigentlich für uns in unserem Alltag, denn wir sind es ja, die gemeint sind. Und Ehrlich gesagt, fühle ich mich gar nicht “Heilig”. Letztes Jahr haben wir dann doch das Thema gewechselt, weil wir dachten online kann man einfach nicht über irgendeine Art von Gemeinschaft reden. Aber inzwischen haben wir dazugelernt: Gemeinschaft hat nichts mit körperlicher Nähe zu tun. Gemeinschaft in Christus lebt über alle Landesgrenzen hinweg. Dieses Jahr also packen wir es an: Gemeinschaft der Heiligen. Die Online-Treffen beginnen an Wochentagen erst ab 16 oder sogar 17 Uhr, so dass man auch nach der Arbeit noch mitmachen kann.

***  Two years ago, we decided on this topic: What does “communion of saints” actually mean – in our daily lives? Because WE are actually meant by that term “saints” and quite honestly, I really don’t feel saintly at all. Last year, we changed the topic because we felt that any kind of “community” might be hard to talk about online when all we saw of each other was rectangles with faces. A year later, we know better: communion or community has nothing to do with physical closeness. It is a closeness we can feel even from one country to another. So this year, we will take it on: Communion of Saints. Who or what is holy? You can also download the agenda there (which is in English and German). The online sessions start at 4 or even 5 pm on weekdays (Berlin time) so one might participate after work as well. And we will provide interpretation between English and German.
