Was ist Dir heilig? What is sacred to you?

Heute fängt unser Europäischer Bibelworkshop an. Es geht um Heiliges: Heiliger Gott, heilige Schrift, heilige Orte, heilige Menschen. Was ist das eigentlich: heilig? Was ist uns heilig?

Wir werden so ca. 30 Leute sein – aus ganz Deutschland, Polen, Rumänien, Ungarn, den Niederlanden, Österreich und Lettland. Aber ja, wir sind doch noch einmal online zusammen, immer so ab ca. 16 Uhr, damit man auch nach der Arbeit teilnehmen kann.

Heute Abend – ab 19 Uhr, Berliner Zeit geht es erstmal los mit einer Vorstellungsrunde: die Teilnehmer:innen zeigen einen Gegenstand, der für sie das Heilige symbolisiert.

Nach der Abschlussandacht kann man dann gerne noch online bleiben und mit anderen ins Gespräch zu kommen. Bei den analogen Bibeldialogen in Berlin (oder anderen Ländern) sind es oft die Gespräche zwischen den Arbeitseinheiten, die den Teilnehmenden besonders wichtig sind. Das kommt online etwas zu kurz, aber mit den „social chats“ am Abend hoffen wir, einen kleine Ersatz zu schaffen.

*** Today we begin our European Bible Workshop. It will be about the Holy: holy God, holy scripture, holy sites, holy people. But what does that mean: holy? Sacred? Saint? What is sacred to us today?

We will be about 30 people online – from all over Germany, Poland, Romania, Hungray, the Netherlands and Austria and Latvia. Our online sessions usually begin at 4 p.m. Berlin time, so that people might even participate after work.

Tonight we begin at 7 p.m. with introductions. All participants are asked to show and tell about an item that for them symbolizes the Holy.

After an evening blessing, there will the option to stay online a little longer to just chat with each other. When we meet in Berlin or other countries, the talks inbetween the actual work units are sometimes the most precious thing of the conference. Online-conferences fall short in that matter, but with our “social chats, we hope to compensate a little.
