Seit Mittwoch läuft der Bibeldialog zum Thema Gottes Liebe und Gottes Zorn, ein Prädikantenfortbildung. Es sind 32 TeilnehmerInnen aus vielen verschiedenen Landeskirchen Deutschlands, aus Lettland, Italien und den Niederlanden. Wir haben uns besonders gefreut, dass sehr viele neu dazugekommen sind. Gleich am ersten Abend gab es angeregte Diskussionen darüber, was wir unter Gottes Zorn und Gottes Liebe vorstellen? Wenn wir in der Bibel über dunklen Seiten Gottes lesen und diese nicht einfach ignorieren oder wegdeuten wollen. Können wir denn noch unbekümmert zum "lieben" Gott beten? Aber Gott ist uns "lieb" und er ist ein liebende Gott. Manche Probleme, die wir haben, wenn wir zu Gott oder über Gott sprechen sind eigentlich Sprachprobleme, weil Wörter ihre Bedeutung geändert haben. Aber wenn wir predigen, wollen wir auch Trost geben in schweren Zeiten - Trösten, aber nicht vertrösten. Es bleibt schwer anzunehmen, dass wir Gott nicht ganz und völlig begreifen werden können; es braucht Mut zum Geheimnis!
Wednesday, we started the Bible dialogue for lay preachers with 32 participants from all over Germany, Latvia, the Netherlands and Italy - many among them participating for the first time. From the beginning, discussions have been intense and showed the participants' great commitment to their work. The Wrath of God and the Love of God are not an easy topic for a sermon. We hope to comfort people in hard times, give them hope but do not wish to lie and gloss over the dark sides of God that we also find in the Bible. It remains a challenge to our faith to accept that we cannot grasp or understand God completely and fully; it takes courage to accept the mystery of God.
