Ein Blick zurück / Looking back: Bible Dialogues 2020 – II

So vieles war anders als geplant... Noch im März hielten wir Präsenztagungen für machbar. In Berlin gab es kaum Infizierte… doch dann ging alles sehr schnell. Einen Bibeldialog, der im Mai stattfinden sollte, bereiteten wir noch persönlich vor und so landete dann Dawid aus Tschechien anschließend für zwei Wochen in Quarantäne. Es ging zu schnell für ein ordentliches „Online-Format“ und so entstand dieser Blog (ja, den gab es schon ein paar Jahre and ich hatte bislang recht spärlich gepostet).

Die nächsten Bibeldialoge wurden notgedrungen abgesagt. Keiner von uns hatte bis dahin Erfahrungen mit Online-Konferenzen. Ein paar Leitungsteams hatten schon mal einen Bibeldialog per Skype  vorbereitet, aber das war es auch schon. Wenn es aber keine „richtigen“ Begegnungen geben konnte, wollten wir wenigstens ein paar der Inhalte über den Blog vermitteln. Ich bin den Teams da sehr dankbar, dass sie mir für jeden Tag ein paar Zeilen zu den geplanten Tagungseinheiten gemailt haben, die dann im Blog standen. Besser als nichts; die Beiträge wurden erfreulich oft gelesen und manchmal sogar kommentiert, aber letztlich waren das keine echten Begegnungen. Aus den gelegentlichen Kommentaren entstanden keine Diskussionen.

*** So much was planned and then happened in a different way this year... Even as late as in March, we thought it possible to meet in person for our conferences. There were hardly any infections in Berlin after all… and then things happened fast. We still met in person to prepare for a conference in May and in consequence out Czech team-member Dawid ended up in quarantine when he returned home. It happened too fast to come up with any working “online-format” and so I turned to this blog which I had only rarely posted in since I had created it years ago. 

The Bible dialogues in April, May, and June were cancelled. We still had hopes though for those in July and later. None of us had any experience with online conferences. Some of the team had prepared their conference via Skype but that was all. Now, if no “real” encounters could happen, we wanted to at least pass on some of the prepared content via this Blog. I am most grateful to the teams for sending me their texts. And they were read and sometimes commented by a surprising number of people. But in the end: this was not an encounter. The rare comments did not spark any discussions.
