Gerade Mut genug! Just enough Courage!

Gestern habe ich nichts in den Blog geschrieben. Unser Europäischer Jugend-Bibelworkshop war eine wirklich schöne Tagung, was ganz besonders an den Teilnehmer*innen lag, die eine so wunderbare positive Energie mitbrachten, dass kaum noch auffiel, dass wir – wegen der aktuellen Corona-Probleme – nur so wenige waren. Als Alle abgereist waren, fiel diese Energie recht plötzlich von mir ab und ich bemerkte, wie müde ich war. Ich bin eben doch nicht mehr jung. Gespräche bis in die Nacht nach einem intensiven Programm… schön war’s. Gut, dass wir den Mut hatten, es in Berlin zu machen.
Wie so oft, waren es die Beiträge der Teilnehmer*innen, die aus einem ganz normalen Tagungsgeschehen ein besonderes Lernerlebnis machen. Die virtuellen „Stadtführungen“ der Teilnehmer*innen zu Orten, an denen Menschen Mut gezeigt haben, mit spontanen PowerPointPräsentationen oder selbstgemalten Bildern haben ein Licht auf die jeweiligen Länder geworfen, das Momente beleuchtet hat, die nicht in Medienberichten oder auf Wikipedia erscheinen. Die Comix, die die Teilnehmer*innen zu ganz individuellen Situationen gezeichnet und zu denen sie in Kleingruppen Lösungsansätze entwickelt haben, zeigten, wie kostbar eine Gemeinschaft ist, die sich als Brüder und Schwestern begreift. Unsere Sorgen und Probleme, wo auch immer, gehen uns eben doch alle an. Und jede*r hat Gaben und Talente, die zusammen den größten Schatz ergeben, den sich ein Mensch vorstellen kann. Unsere Talentshow am letzten Abend, mit Gesang und Tanz und Lyrik und genial gemixten Drinks hat das noch einmal betont. Vielleicht hat es manchen von uns Mut gekostet, auf unsere kleine Bühne zu treten und sich zu präsentieren, aber der tosende Applaus hat gezeigt, dass es nicht mehr darum ging, zu gewinnen, sondern um ein gutes Miteinander, das die Gaben aller würdigen kann.

*** Yesterday, I did not post anything on the Blog. Our European Youth-Bible-Workshop was a truly beautiful conference, which was true particularly because of our participants, who brought such a wonderful positive energy, that we hardly noticed we were so few – due to the Corona-problems. When all had left, suddenly all this energy was missing in me and I realized how tired I was. I guess, I am not young anymore. 😊 Discussions into the night after a full programme by day… it was wonderful. I am glad, we found the courage to meet in Berlin.
As happens so often in the European Bible Dialogues, the participants‘ contributions were the reason that a normal conference agenda can become a special encounter and learning experience. The participants’ virtual “City Walks” to places where people showed courage in the respective countries, by spontaneously created PowerPoints or drawings and performance, cast a light on moments, that cannot be found in media reports or on Wikipedia. The comix, the participants drew on very personal problems and fears and the ideas for solutions brought up in small groups, showed how precious a community is that regards itself as brothers and sisters. Our worries and fear, no matter where in the world do concern us all. And we – each and every one of us – has gifts and talents, the sum of which make for the greatest imaginable treasure of all. Our talent-show on the last evening was proof of that with song and dance, poetry and perfectly mixed drinks. Some may have needed a good deal of courage to step onto our little makeshift stage to present themselves, but the enthusiastic applause showed this was about more than competing or winning, but about being a friendly community that cherishes everybody’s gifts.
